New Loan Manager – Next Steps

Introduction

With our most recent update, we’ve added a New Loan Manager, a better tool for searching and servicing loans. This article will give step-by-step instructions on how to perform and save searches, and queue loans for servicing actions.

If you’re totally unfamiliar with the loan manager or just looking for a high-level summary of the new features, see our article New Loan Manager — Basics.

The new Loan Manager solves two primary problems. First, searches can be pinned, so they are always present as tabs at the top of the Loan Manager. This gives users a much easier time moving between frequent searches. Second, saving the full search configuration (keywords, selected search filters, data columns, column order, and column sort order) with a saved search means that any two users who use that saved search will see the same loan results in the same order.

On top of solving those problems, this update substantially improves the user experience of the Loan Manager and LMS. The Loan Manager is the de facto home page of LMS. The new Loan Manager has a modern, intuitive look, that gives focus to what’s most important, loans and search. More than just a makeover, this change makes it easier to find what you’re looking for and see what you’re doing.

Other features include:

  • Increased mobile-friendliness
  • Search filters that are in use are displayed within the search bar. They can be removed with a single click.
  • Summary numbers and charts displayed in a new Statistics View.
  • The ability to assign colors to loan statuses and sub statuses to make them identifiable at a glance.
  • The option to set any saved search as the default search.
New Line of Credit Feature
LoanPro has a new feature for Line of Credit Accounts. To this end, lines of credit will have their own Line of Credit Manager, which will look and act just like the new Loan Manager.

Getting There

Access to the New Loan Manager is controlled through agent users' roles. If you're the Tenant Admin (who has full access), you'll be able to grant access to other users.

Users with access will see the option for the New Loan Manager upon logging into LMS.

Access to the New Loan Manager has been granted by default to the Tenant Admin Role. The Tenant Admin can give access to any other role.

For information on role access see the Create a Role article.

Searching for Loans

Filters allow you to search for groups of loans with specific criteria. To add filters click on the three horizontal lines to the right of the screen in the search bar, pulling up all the available filters. You can select as many filters as you’d like to apply to your search. Your most used filters will be shown at the top of the page. When you’ve added specific filters click ‘Apply Filters’, this will now list any loans associated with the filters you selected.

Additionally, if you’d like to remove a filter this can be done at the top of the page in the search bar. To remove certain filters, click on the X to the right of the filter, you can remove each one individually.

Saved Searches

Like its predecessor, the New Loan Manager lets you save specific searches. You can access all of your saved searches using the "All Searches" drop-down found to the right of your tabs.

One additional feature that we've added to Saved Searches is the ability to save a column configuration with each search. This means that you can customize your "Bankruptcy" search to show the bankruptcy chapter and petition status, or your "Past Due" search to show days and amount past due as well as delinquency buckets. We've also added a few more small tweaks to saved searches, such as directly editing a search and renaming searches.

If you choose to sort by any of the search columns, the sort order will be saved with your saved search. This means that saved searches will look the same to any user. Searches can be saved at either the user level or the tenant level. If they are saved at the tenant level, any user in the tenant can use them.

It is important to note that all of your saved searches will not be transferred over from the Classic Loan Manager and vice versa; however, you can enlist the help of our support team to recreate your searches in the New Loan Manager.

Pinned Searches

This feature allows you to have multiple searches running at the same time, shown as tabs at the top of the New Loan Manager. You can pin up to five searches, which will remain open even after your session ends — the next time you log in, they'll be ready and waiting. An unpinned search, on the other hand, will disappear when you navigate away from the New Loan Manager, keeping it clean and decluttered.

If a search is pinned, you can use the Make Default option from this selection to make it your default search. This will only change the default search for your user. The new default search pinned tab will be moved to become the leftmost tab.

Loan Actions

The New Loan Manager allows you to select specific loans by clicking the checkbox on the left of the loan listings. You are also able to select all of them at once by clicking the first checkbox at the top of the loan listing.

When you select loans using the checkboxes, you will be shown blue options at the top of the loan listings. These options include, send email, run TCN campaign, send to mail house, send to billing, and more (create custom form, and create collector queue).

There are additional loan actions within the New Loan Manager, these can be found by clicking on the 3 dotted icon at the top right of the screen. When clicking on this icon, you will get a drop-down list of loan actions.

Loan statuses and sub statuses can be displayed in different colors in order to make them easily identifiable at a glance. To configure status colors go to Settings > Loan > Labeling > Loan Status. To learn more about statuses an colors, see our Create New Loan Status article.

Use Cases and Common Questions

Use of the New Loan Manager will be similar to use of the Classic Loan Manager. The primary use is to search for loans. Many users will pin searches so all searches they perform most frequently are available at the click of a button. Saved searches will be used frequently. This will help two agents looking at the same search ensure that they see the same resulting loans in the same order.

You may have some questions about this New Loan Manager. We will attempt to give the answers here.

  • Will the Classic Loan Manager go away? The Classic Loan Manager will be available until sometime in 2022, but it will eventually be deprecated. We therefore encourage everyone to use the New Loan Manager to become familiar with it during that time.
  • Will the New Loan Manager have the same functionality as the Classic Loan Manager? None of the functionality will go away, but the New Loan Manager will provide more functionality and a better user experience.
  • Will the New Loan Manager be the default? No. The new tool can be accessed by clicking the New Loan Manager item on the top menu inside LMS.
  • Will the API calls be different on the New Loan Manager? No. The New Loan Manager is a UI change, and will not affect the API, which will still use Elasticsearch.
