Global System Notes


Global system notes are used to view changes that affect your company configuration. In this section of the software, you can view how settings for several categories within your account have changed. The system is always tracking changes, and this information may come in handy if you need to view an unwarranted or unauthorized change.

This article provides a brief overview of how to find and view your global system notes.

How To

The global system notes can be viewed by navigating to Settings > Company > Global System Notes inside your company account. Here, you'll see what changes have been made that affect your company configuration.

You'll notice that you can filter your global system notes. There are a few different filtering options available, such as filtering by the type of setting changed, agent user, or date. Filtering will help you narrow your search to specific changes made to your account. To filter the results, click 'Show Filtering Options' located at the top of the page.

How do API requests affect how global system notes are logged?
If you send an API request that makes a global system change, it will be logged as though the change was made via the UI. However, the logged agent user and IP address will reflect the user set as the registered user for the tenant's API settings.

This is the case for all API requests; and as such, we highly recommend you create an agent meant solely for API use. Creating a dedicated API agent user will help you easily see which requests and system changes are made via the API.
