Bank account validation

With our integrated partner Repay, we offer real-time, customizable bank account validation as you're creating or updating a payment profile. To use this feature you'll need a Repay account. To get started, reach out to your LoanPro contact. If you already have a Repay account, this article will explain how to enable this feature and begin using it in your tenant.

Setup Repay validation

The Repay validation is enabled in the Secure Payments UI. To begin setup, open Secure Payments and navigate to Actions > Information Lookup. Use the ‘Repay - ACH Account Validation’ toggle to enable the feature.

Once the feature is enabled, you can customize the rules and settings to create a validation process that fits your needs. To edit the settings, navigate to Bank Account Control > Repay. On the ‘Setup tab’, the following fields are available:

Setting Description
Username The username of the Repay validator account.
Merchant ID The merchant ID of the Repay validator account.
API Secure Token API token for the Repay validator account.
Sandbox? Whether or not the validator should be set to ‘Sandbox Mode’ and send calls using sandbox endpoints.
Force External Validation? Whether the validation service should use external sources (other than Repay) to validate the account.
Validate on Update? Whether the validation service should run when updating a payment profile or not.

The next tab is the ‘Payment Profile Creation Rules’. Here, you can define criteria that will determine whether or not a payment profile should be created, based on the information that was returned from Repay. When the validator service runs, Repay returns three pieces of information that you can use when writing rules:

  • Decision
  • Internal status
  • External status

This feature allows you to use many rules and set an order. If the first rule is not met, the validator will move to the second rule and so on. If none of the rules are met, the decision will be determined by the ‘Default action’. To write these rules and ensure they function as intended, reach out to your LoanPro contact.

Finally, the ‘Payment Profile Validation Log’ tab will provide a history of all the validation that have been run on the account including the result of the validation.

Validating payment profiles

When the Repay validation is enabled, you'll be able to confirm whether an account exists as you create the payment profile in LoanPro. When creating a payment profile, you'll use a secure iframe to enter in the account information. If the account is not validated the following error will display:

This will prevent the profile from being created until Repay is able to validate the account according to your defined criteria.
